Today (5th April 2021) Cristen Kyle, 10 years old finally received his Citizenship Certificate under Article 15A of the Federal Constitution (Special Power to Register Children).
On 28 December this family came to Agnes’s office seeking help to obtain Citizenship Certificate which they have applied for in August 2016. Father of Cristen is a Malaysian Citizen and the mother is an Indonesian. They were married in accordance with their customary practices and only registered their marriage at JPN Lawas after Cristen Kyle birth.
When Cristen’s birth was registered, JPN issued a Pink Birth Certificate which means Cristen is not a Citizen of Malaysia. Agnes wrote to JPN Putrajaya, Kuching, Lawas and KDN seeking their help to issue Cristen’s citizenship certificate so that he can go to school. In January 2021 Agnes received an email from KDN that the Cristen’s Citizenship approval letter can be collected at JPN Lawas. Today while Cristen is in school his parents collected his Citizenship Certificate from JPN Lawas. They came to the office to thank Agnes for her kind assistance.
There are many more cases such as Cristen Kyle and some unable to attend school.
